7 Things

Since I’ve been a loss of things to really get enraged about and since I know no one really wants to hear me be nice about things or have no real opinions here’s one of those fangled interweb meme’s that’s going around the interweebles at this time of year.  I saw it on a local developers blog I read (LornaJane.net), so technically no one as actually tagged me but I’ve gotten some flack of late for my lack of posting and I thought it might be a nice start to the year before I get into some stuff I’ve been thinking about over the Xmas break.

  1. I only recently (November) discovered that you can by eggs in different sizes.  I always knew that eggs from different species of bird resulted in different sizes but I did not realise that we had a entire classification system for the varying sizes of hens eggs! I now refuse to let Andrea buy anything other than large or extra large. Turns out everyone else in the known universe knew about this and was thus could not understand why I was so excited about learning of this wondrous fact.
  2. The idea of living on a narrow boat is strangely appealing to me and getting more appealing as I get older. Not only could I wear a captains hat I would have the perfect venue to write a book that I would not be ashamed to show to other people.  I don’t think I can think of anything less stressful right now than navigating the historic British waterways writing and taking photos. Bliss.
  3. When I was at school in the latter stages of compulsory education I am sure in my belief that if it was not for a Science teacher in his first post named Ian Coneron giving me so many opportunities and encouragement to explore the stuff that excited and interested me that my life would have taken a drastically different course and I might not have been here now.
  4. I have no DIY skill at all, I know what I need to do and I can see the best ways to do things but I executing those things in a fashion that is anything short of a comedic shambles is seemingly impossible for me.
  5. Of all the things that piss me off (and we know a great many things piss me off) having to tolerate other people’s untidy and laziness if the one that puts me into the short of mood where I can quite happily ignore people for days at a time without any sort of explanation.  Fickle maybe but it’s the one thing that I have not managed to master in my pursuit of staying calm it just winds me up to the point I get annoyed.
  6. I originally went to study Computer Science at uni but changed to Cybernetics & Virtual Systems.
  7. My first computer was a ZX Spectrum.

And to the tagging then, I call you out people!

Druid X – A friend I met at LRL last year after reading her blog for a while and not putting 2 and 2 together, wife of Monty.  She scares me!
Paddy – A web friend and fellow developer
Evil Nick – One of my oldest and most jaded friends, we conflict on many things and don’t spend enough time together maybe when he moves back to god’s own county!
Kate – We’ve been friends since uni, Kate is a biblically good cook and is the one personal I can be pretty certain will always be smiling! (Despite living with Nige ;) )
Darkliquid – Geek’s do seem to have similar sense of humor and after a comment at LRL about stump fucking I knew we would end up friends.
IB – IB is one of my closest friends and also one of the most difficult to understand due to not only been afflicted with a stunning case of being Irish but also having dyslexia. never as a man wore more denim and not been in a boy band than he as!
Mc Ive – Stalked me on the internet after buying flowers from his florist, and ended up as on my my closest friends.  Runs Linux now and hence is a real man at last!

And now the rules:

  • Link your original tagger(s), and list these rules on your blog.
  • Share seven facts about yourself in the post – some random, some wierd.
  • Tag seven people at the end of your post by leaving their names and the links to their blogs.
  • Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their blogs and/or Twitter.

    Yo Byte-Yoke!

Very large eggs are the work of the Gods and when you get a double-yoker, you know that you have really arrived at potential chicken offspring nirvana!
